Kelowna Hockey Fest Ready to Welcome Hockey Community to Prospera Place August 23

Kelowna’s hockey event of the summer is set to bring a star-studded lineup of current NHL players, alumni and young stars to Prospera Place Friday, August 23rd. Presented by Kelowna High Performance (KHP) with support from GSL Group, Kelowna Hockey Fest is a fun-filled day of events and activities to bring the Kelowna hockey community together and celebrate Canada’s favourite game.

“We are honoured to bring Kelowna Hockey Fest back again this year, says Mark Fitzgerald, Co-Owner of Kelowna High Performance. “The love for hockey runs deep in Kelowna and this event offers our community the chance to share their love for the sport and their beautiful city.”

The festivities kick off at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 23rd with a free event outside of Prospera Place that
is fun for the whole family. With a kids zone brought to you by YMCA of Southern Interior BC, shooting
accuracy competition, food vendors, beer garden, merch tent (including KHP partners Violent Gentlemen
Hockey Club and Cwench Hydration) and more, the Kelowna Hockey Fest team invites you to gather your
friends, family, colleagues or teammates for a fun-filled afternoon

The evening culminates with the Kelowna Hockey Fest Pro Game with 6:00 PM puck drop at Prospera Place. Hockey fans will enjoy the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of their favourite NHL alumni and current players including Tyler Meyers, Curtis Lazar, alongside newly drafted young stars. The star-power also extends to the bench with a star-studded lineup of coaches such as Brent Seabrook, Shea Weber and Josh Gorges. The Pro Game also includes a 50/50 raffle, silent auction and game-worn jersey raffle with proceeds going to the YMCA of Southern Interior of BC.

“Travis and I are super passionate about giving back to the community, and are thrilled to be partnering with the YMCA of Southern Interior BC this year” says Fitzgerald. “Their inclusive programs support individuals in realizing their full potential and Kelowna Hockey Fest attendees can feel good knowing that the charity monies raised at the event will go directly to those within our community.”
