Rock The Lake Adds Second Wave of Artists Including International Rock Bands Daughtry and Hoobastank
Three-day weekend passes are available now to catch the newly-added rock icons, Daughtry, Hoobastank, Texas King, and Lynam live in Downtown Kelowna this July.
KELOWNA, B.C., May 1, 2024 – Rock The Lake has announced the addition of Grammy-nominated bands Daughtry and Hoobastank to the stacked festival lineup. Canada’s Texas King and the retro metal group Lynam also join the two internationally recognized bands. The announcement follows Rock The Lake’s initial 2024 lineup announcements, including rock legends Tom Cochrane, Theory of a Deadman, Our Lady Peace, and 54-40 playing the outdoor plaza at Prospera Place from July 12-14th, 2024.
About the Second Wave of Artists
A rock powerhouse, Daughtry has been smashing records with the fastest-selling rock debut album in modern history, earning multiple GRAMMY® nominations, and consistently topping charts with certified Platinum and Gold albums. They recently ushered in a new sonic era with Big Machine Records and their single featuring Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale, “Artificial.”
Hoobastank are best known for their 4x platinum single “The Reason”, popularized over two decades on countless TV shows and more recently, on TikTok. The song has billions of streams across streaming platforms and has propelled the band’s more recent albums to a new generation of fans.
Canadian touring workhorses Texas King also join the line-up this year, bringing their notoriously high-energy show to the sunny outdoor stage. “We’re the good times boys,” says frontman Jordan Macdonald. “Leave your troubles at the door, because you’re not gonna be able to hold them with those two beers in each hand.”
The second wave of artists is rounded out by Alabama’s rock trio, Lynam. Influenced by Def Leppard, the independent artists cross intricate songwriting with the fun and fanfare of glam rock.
The First Wave of Bands Released
The first wave of artists in Rock The Lake’s 2024 lineup includes rock legends Tom Cochrane, Theory of a Deadman, Our Lady Peace and 54-40, with more band announcements to come, and the full lineup and schedule to be released at a later date.
Canadian songwriting legend Tom Cochrane is returning to the festival grounds at Prospera Place for the first time since 2019, playing iconic classics like Life is a Highway and No Regrets. The eight-time Juno award winner and Canadian Music Hall of Famer will pull from five decades of his catalog to get rock fans from across generations dancing in the Okanagan summer.
Cochrane will share the weekend with B.C.’s own Theory of a Deadman, who will put on their biggest show to date in the city. The grunge-alt trio is ready and excited to transport the crowd to the prime of 2000s grunge rock with hits like Bad Girlfriend.
Our Lady Peace will be belting out singalong hits, like Somewhere Out There and Superman’s Dead during the weekend as well. Fellow Canadians, the record-setting band is known for their creative and enticing live shows, not to be missed.
The plethora of Canadian talent will be joined by another B.C. band, 54-40 who, like others on the bill, span decades of Canadian rock music history. Catch them playing bangers like Casual Viewin’ on the lakeside stage.
