Prospera Place Concludes Historic 25th Anniversary Season with Over 200,000 Visitors and Much to Look Forward To
Prospera Place, owned and operated by the Canadian GSL Group, has officially wrapped up its 25th anniversary season, marking a milestone year of entertainment, sports, and community connection in the heart of downtown Kelowna.
From August 2024 to July 2025, the venue hosted over 200,000 guests across more than 80 event nights, including sold-out events like Riley Green, Sum 41, PBR: Okanagan Challenge, as well as the 2025 Montana’s Brier held in Kelowna for the first time since 1968, and five days of the world-famous Cirque du Soleil. Throughout the season, the Kelowna Rockets also delivered a full WHL schedule, bringing hockey fans out to over 30 home games throughout the 2024/2025 season.
“This season wasn’t just about the concerts and events, it was about the people,” said Graham Lee, President & CEO of GSL Group. “To see more than 200,000 guests walk through our doors in a single season speaks to the power of live experiences, and the community that continues to support this building 25 years on. Prospera Place is more than just an arena, it’s a gathering place for big moments and memories, and we’re so proud to be a part of it with our community in the Okanagan.”
Since opening in 1999 with a concert by Moist, Prospera Place has hosted over six million guests and brought global icons such as Elton John, Jay-Z, Shania Twain, TOOL, and Aerosmith to Kelowna.
One of the season’s standout moments was the eighth edition of Rock The Lake, produced by GSL Group, which drew over 8,500 fans for a multigenerational weekend of Canadian music. Beyond the music, the festival partnered with the Kelowna Professional Firefighters Charitable Society and GSL’s Canadian Wildfire Prevention Foundation to raise over $10,000 for wildfire prevention and firefighter wellness, along with $10,000 in donated tickets for local firefighters and their families.
Looking ahead, Prospera Place is set for a packed schedule of major national events and internationally acclaimed artists. In September 2025, the venue will host the Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMAs) for the first time, followed by the return of the 106th Memorial Cup in May 2026—bringing junior hockey’s top tournament back to Kelowna for the first time since the Rockets won it on home ice in 2004. Between these milestone events, the arena will host artists like Bryan Adams, Sarah McLachlan, Blue Rodeo, and other upcoming sports and entertainment events, including some to be announced soon.
In preparation for these marquee events, the GSL senior management team and the operations team at Prospera Place have been working in coordination with the City of Kelowna to facilitate venue upgrades, including a state-of-the-art scoreboard, improved lighting and sound systems, a new press box, and refreshed amenities for fans and artists.
